Started with just two lawyers and a vision - to provide corporate legal services that actually make sense to business owners. We weren't interested in the stuffy tradition, just getting real work done for our clients.
Word travels fast when you're winning cases. We brought on three more partners and moved to Bay Street. Suddenly we're handling M&A deals we only dreamed about four years earlier.
Canadian Lawyer Magazine named us one of Toronto's top boutique firms for corporate litigation. Not gonna lie, that felt pretty good. But what mattered more was our clients kept coming back.
Seventeen years in, we've got a team of twelve lawyers and we're still doing what we love - fighting for businesses, closing deals, and protecting what our clients have built. The fire hasn't gone out yet.
Here's the thing about most law firms - they talk at you, not with you. We've never been into that.
When you walk through our doors, you're not getting some junior associate who's gonna bill you for learning on the job. You're sitting down with lawyers who've been in the trenches, who understand that legal problems are business problems.
Every client's different. Some need us to take the lead and handle everything. Others just want strategic advice and they'll run with it. We adapt to what works for you, not the other way around.
You know what clients hate? Vague answers and bills that don't make sense.
We're straight shooters. If we think you've got a weak case, we'll tell you. If there's a faster way to solve your problem that doesn't involve a lawsuit, we'll say that too. Our job isn't to rack up hours - it's to get you where you need to be.
Corporate law can get complex, sure. But that doesn't mean we need to make it sound like we're speaking ancient Greek. We explain things in plain English because honestly, what's the point otherwise?
Litigation isn't our first choice, but when it's necessary, we don't back down.
We've squared off against some of the biggest firms in Canada and come out on top. Not because we're louder or flashier, but because we do our homework and we know how to tell a compelling story in court.
That said, some of our best wins never see a courtroom. A well-timed negotiation, a strategically crafted settlement - sometimes that's the smarter play. We're not in this for courtroom drama. We're in it to win for you.

Sarah's been closing deals since before it was cool. Started her career at a Bay Street giant but got tired of the bureaucracy. She joined us in 2010 and hasn't looked back.
She's handled over 150 M&A transactions, ranging from small private sales to multi-million dollar acquisitions. Clients appreciate that she doesn't sugarcoat things - if a deal smells off, she'll tell you.

Marcus is the guy you want when things get messy. He's got this calm demeanor that drives opposing counsel crazy - never rattled, always three steps ahead.

Jennifer knows employment law inside out. Whether it's drafting contracts, handling terminations, or defending wrongful dismissal claims, she's been through it all.
What sets her apart is how she gets both sides of the story. She's represented employers and employees throughout her career, so she knows every angle. That makes her incredibly effective at negotiation.

Raj came to us from the tech sector, which gives him a unique perspective on intellectual property. He actually understands how technology works, not just the legal framework around it.
He's your go-to for trademark protection, licensing agreements, and those complex software contracts that make everyone's head spin. Plus he drafts contracts that people can actually understand.
